Description
Luria Broth Miller’s is a culture medium used for growing and maintaining Escherichia coli in molecular genetic studies. This nutrient-rich microbial broth contains peptides, amino acids, water-soluble vitamins, and carbohydrates. The yeast Extract is a source of vitamins and minerals, and Sodium chloride provides essential electrolytes and maintains the osmotic equilibrium.
Composition: Tryptone:10 g/L, Sodium Chloride: 10 g/L (Miller′s Modification), Yeast Extract: 5 g/L
In Water
Preparation: Dissolve 25 g of LB Miller’s in 1 liter of Distilled/DI Water, and sterilize by autoclaving for 15 minutes. Allow it to cool down to room temp before using and making additions to it, such as antibiotics.
Storage: Room Temp, tightly sealed, and protect from moisture & light.
