Description
*Tween 20 (Polysorbate) is a nonionic detergent widely used in biological research applications. It has been used as an emulsifying agent for the preparation of stable oil-in-water emulsions. Tween 20 efficiently separates hydrophilic proteins from membrane spanning, hydrophobic proteins without altering biological activity and used in pre-extraction of membranes to remove peripheral proteins (used at 2% for extraction of membrane-bound proteins). It can be readily used for lysing mammalian cells at a concentration of 0.005 to 0.5%, and has also been used as a blocking agent for membrane based immunoassays at a typical concentration of 0.05%.
Cepham Life Sciences’ Tween 20 (undiluted) is Protease, DNase and RNase Free, but not peroxide and carbonyl free as our Tween 20 10% Purified Proteomic Grade with very low peroxide, carbonyl and salt concentration used in proteomics studies. It is suitable for DNA extraction, RNA extraction, Mammalian cell culture, and protein purification.
