General Description
ASB-C80 (4-octylbenzol aminosulfobetaine)
It is a zwitterionic detergent with an aromatic core, known to stabilize and solubilize integral membrane proteins by breaking aggregates. Used for protein analysis and characterization by two-dimensional (2-D) gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry techniques and reported to be superior to CHAPS in solubilizing both an anion-channel and a G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR).
