Description
L-Hexanoylcarnitine is an acylcarnitine, a derivative of carnitine associated with celiac disease, and used as an analytical agent. It is also known as Hexanoyl-L-carnitine and can be used to determine the fatty acid profile of various substances, including lipids and phospholipids. The compound is immobilized on a solid support and analyzed with a spectrometer or gas chromatograph. Hexanoyl-L-carnitine is also useful for diagnosing propionyl carnitine deficiency.
