Description
Our Phosphatase Inhibitor Cocktail-II is a mixture of five phosphatase inhibitors: Imidazole, Sodium Fluoride, Sodium Molybdate, Sodium Orthovanadate, and Sodium Tartrate Dihydrate. This cocktail inhibits the activity of acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase and protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs) and is suitable for cell and tissue lysates in a lysis buffer with or without detergents. This mixture promotes broad spectrum protection against endogenous serine/threonine and tyrosine phosphatases.
Intact status of the phosphorylated residue of interest is imperative to study the phosphorylation status of specific target proteins. Upon cell lysis for attaining whole cell extracts, a loss of normal cellular signaling regulation occurs, and phosphatases within the cell extract are free to dephosphorylate proteins in an unregulated fashion. The addition of phosphatase inhibitors to the cell lysis buffer aids in the preservation of phosphorylated residues at the time of cell disruption.
