Description
Ponceau S is the sodium salt of a diazo dye, used to make Ponceau S Stain Solution for rapid reversible staining of protein bands on Western Blots made with Nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes. The Ponceau S Stain Solution is also used for staining protein on cellulose acetate membranes. The stain is reversed with water washes and aids in subsequent immunological detection. The most common formulation of Ponceau S Stain Solution contains 0.1% Ponceau S (w/v) in 5% Acetic acid.
