XTT Cell Viability Assay Kit

XTT Cell Viability Assay Kit is based on XTT (2,3-Bis-(2-Methoxy-4-Nitro-5-Sulfophenyl)-2H-Tetrazolium-5-Carboxanilide) compound. XTT is a colorless or pale yellow compound that turns into bright orange soluble formazan when reduced, which can be used to measure the cell viability, since actively growing cells convert XTT to an orange colored formazan. The cell viability is measured by reading the absorbance of the soluble bright orange formazan formed at 450 nm and at 660 nm (to assess non-specific readings).
