Description
General Description
PMSF is an irreversible inhibitor of serine and cysteine proteases, such as trypsin, chymotrypsin, thrombin and papain and mammalian acetylcholinesterase.
It is recommended to dissolve PMSF in DMSO or Ethanol as it degrades in water. Any multi-step purification protocols should involve addition of fresh solution of PMSF at every step, due to its short half-life.
