General Description
Potassium acetate [3M], pH 5.5 is used for precipitating DNA and RNA, and for buffering in the pH range of 3.8–5.8. The solution has been filtered through a 0.22 μm filter into a sterile bottle, requires no additional preparations and ready to use.
Applications: Routine Precipitation of DNA or RNA at Concentrations ≥20 ng/mL
Important Note: Use of potassium acetate should be avoided for the precipitation of RNA from solutions containing SDS, since the potassium salt of SDS is highly insoluble.
